Privacy policy
This is a translation. If it differs from the Korean original, the Korean version prevails.
Dalgung (operated by SIMGO Co., Ltd., "we") follows the Personal Information Protection Act of Korea and other applicable laws, and collects only what a reading needs. You can create an account with email and password, Kakao, or Google. We do not collect phone numbers.
1. What we collect and why
- Kakao and Google login: email, profile nickname, profile picture URL, and provider account identifier. The profile picture is sent along by the login provider; DALGUNG does not display it. With your optional Kakao consent, we also receive name, gender, birth year, birthday (month and day), and solar/lunar calendar type. Declining these additional items does not prevent login or use of the service.
- Accounts and prefill: we use this information to manage your account, send receipts and book links, and link purchases and saved gifts to your library. Optional Kakao details prefill your self fields for new readings. After a completed self reading, we save your name, gender, birth date (including solar/lunar type), birth time and place to your account for future prefill, including for Google and email users. You can edit prefilled values before submitting. We never save partner or gift recipient details to the buyer's profile. Only if you choose to save your reading details at signup, we also save the interest areas you pick (optional) to your account profile and use them for personalized recommendations on the home screen.
- To make your reading (required): the name you go by, gender, date of birth, time of birth (left blank if unknown), place of birth (the city you choose, with its coordinates and time zone)
- Depending on the reading (optional): your question, relationship status, the other person's name, gender, date, time and place of birth, and the cards you drew
- To send your result (required): your email address
- To deliver a gift directly (optional): we keep the recipient email provided by the buyer, the recipient and sender names, the message and chosen language with the gift order, and use them only to send the gift link after payment and retry failed delivery. If the recipient chooses to receive the book link by email, we keep the address they enter separately. Gift email addresses are not used for marketing or added to the buyer's profile. A gift can be opened through its link without providing an email address.
- Payment records: order number, product, amount and payment status. We never receive card numbers or other payment details; the payment provider handles them directly.
- Created automatically: the country you connect from (taken from the country information our host provides; we do not store your internet address itself, though it may remain for a short time in our host's (Vercel) security and access logs), the language and region you chose, and records of your consents with their time
- Visit statistics: we collect the pages you view, where you came from (the address of the site you were on immediately before and the source tag attached to the link), device, operating system and browser types, the country you connect from and language, and the time, without cookies and only to improve the site. We do not store your internet address. From 2026-11-03, to count the same person's visits on the same day once, we mix the internet address and browser information with a value that is newly created each day and deleted the next day, turning them into a number that cannot be reversed to recover the original information. We keep that number only for that day; the next day, only the daily visitor count remains. We do not link this number to the record of pages viewed. Visit records are deleted after 13 months.
- Help chat (from 2026-10-28): we store the messages exchanged in the site's help chat, requests you leave (category, message and the email for our reply), the address of the page where you opened the chat and of the last page you viewed (without secret values such as order numbers), the country you connect from and, if you are signed in, the link to your account and orders. We use them only to answer your questions and to fix order and email problems. Numbers that look like card numbers or Korean resident registration numbers are masked before they are stored or sent to the AI.
- Marketing email: only if you opt in separately. You receive your reading either way.
Please enter another person's details only with their consent. If they ask us to delete them, we also mask the parts about them in the stored reading.
2. How long we keep it
- Login information and your prefill profile (including interest areas): until account deletion. Deletion removes your auth account and profile and unlinks orders and library entries. Orders and books remain as purchase records for the existing periods below.
- Inputs without a payment: deleted 90 days after entry.
- Inputs and readings you paid for: deleted 3 years after your last order, or without delay when you ask.
- Gift recipient emails and delivery information: kept with the order inputs for 90 days without payment, or for 3 years after the last order for a paid gift, and deleted without delay at the recipient's request. Transaction records that must be retained by law follow the periods below.
- Help chat conversations and requests: deleted after 1 year. Content the law requires us to keep as complaint and dispute records is stored separately for the period below.
- Records the law requires us to keep are stored separately for that period (Korean e-commerce law: contract and withdrawal records 5 years, payment and delivery records 5 years, complaint and dispute records 3 years).
- Deleted files are erased so they cannot be recovered.
3. Service providers and international transfers
We do not sell or give your information to others. To run the service we use the providers below, which means some information is transferred to and processed on servers outside Korea. Our Supabase database remains in Seoul.
- Vercel Inc. · United States: hosting and server processing. Login identifiers, email, nickname, optional Kakao details you consented to share, reading inputs/results, orders and consent records are transferred over an encrypted network when you use the service. Account/profile information is retained until account deletion; order-related information follows the periods in section 2.
- Supabase Inc. · Seoul, Republic of Korea region: storage of auth accounts, profiles, orders, inputs, readings and visit statistics. The database storage region is Seoul.
- Resend · United States: delivery of receipts, gift links and book links. Recipient email, necessary order details, receipts, book links and email content are transferred over an encrypted network when an email is sent. Account-related information is retained until account deletion; order/delivery information follows the applicable periods in section 2.
- OpenAI, L.L.C. · United States: writing paid readings. An AI that writes the reading's sentences from our calculations. Under its API terms, the provider does not train on this data.
- Anthropic PBC · United States: backup writer for paid readings, also used to write free content (such as Today's Card). From 2026-10-28 it also writes the help chat's replies; for this, the conversation and the order details the reply needs (masked numbers stay masked) are transferred over an encrypted network during the chat. Under its API terms, the provider does not train on this data.
- Payment: Korea NICEPAY Co., Ltd. Outside Korea, the reseller Dodo Payments processes payment details directly as the seller of record (Merchant of Record).
The information transferred is listed in section 1; it is sent encrypted over the network while you use the service and kept for the periods in section 2. If you do not want it transferred abroad, you may choose not to use the service or ask us to delete it at any time (we then cannot make your reading).
4. Cookies and on-device storage
- We use preference cookies for the language (dg_locale) and region (dg_region) you chose, so you see the same language and prices when you come back. They last 1 year. Only when you switch to Korean outside Korea, a third one (dg_ask) lasts 10 minutes so we can ask once whether to pay as in Korea.
- Secure authentication cookies maintain your login until logout or expiry and are not used for advertising. If you request to save a gift before signing in, an HttpOnly cookie (dg_save_gift) holds the gift capability until it is saved or for at most 1 hour.
- Inputs in progress stay in your browser's tab storage. To resume after login, a temporary copy in local storage can be restored for 1 hour; it is removed after restoration or when an expired copy is checked again. Completed self details are also saved to the account profile described above.
- If you use the help chat, a random value that lets the conversation continue, and whether you have already seen the tip bubble and the new-message mark, are kept in local storage on your device. These are not cookies; we store the random value only in a form from which the original cannot be recovered. Clearing the site data in your browser removes them.
- When you choose a book on the free trial page, a cookie (dg_trial) lets us apply the code to it. It lasts one day.
- A cookie (dg_trial_used) remembers whether you have already had the free trial. It lasts 1 year and is not used for advertising or tracking.
- We use no advertising, analytics or tracking cookies, which is why there is no cookie banner. If that ever changes, we will ask for your consent first.
5. Location
On your first visit we detect only your country, never your exact location. Only when you tap "Find my location" does your browser ask for permission; the coordinates are used on your device to find your country and are never sent to us. For your place of birth we receive only the city you choose.
6. Your rights
Delete account: while signed in, open your Library, select “Delete account” at the bottom and confirm. This deletes your auth account, prefill profile and library links. Orders and books remain as purchase records for the periods in section 2. Contact us below for a separate personal data deletion request, or to request account deletion if you cannot sign in.
You can ask at any time to see, correct or delete your information, or to stop its processing, and you can withdraw marketing consent at once with the link at the bottom of any email. Write to simgo@simgo.kr from the address you ordered with. We will tell you the outcome of your request within 10 days.
You can also ask us to delete help chat conversations and requests at the same address, or by choosing “Privacy” under “Contact us” in the help chat.
7. How we protect it
- Everything is sent encrypted (HTTPS).
- Inputs and readings are stored where only our server keys can open them, and the secret in each reading link is stored in a form that cannot be turned back into the original.
- A reading opens only from its unguessable personal link. Anyone you share the link with can read it, so please share with care.
- Access is limited to the people who need it.
8. Children and minors
In Korea, anyone under 14 may not use Dalgung; outside Korea (including Japan), anyone under 18 may not. We confirm age at the last input step.
9. Privacy officer
- Officer: Geunsu Park · Contact: simgo@simgo.kr · Customer service +82 1551-0525
10. Where to get help
For advice on a privacy violation you can contact these bodies in Korea.
- Personal Information Infringement Report Center (118 within Korea, no area code; privacy.kisa.or.kr)
- Personal Information Dispute Mediation Committee (1833-6972, kopico.go.kr)
- Supreme Prosecutors' Office Cyber Investigation Division (1301 within Korea, no area code), Korean National Police Agency Cyber Bureau (182 within Korea, no area code)
11. Users outside Korea
- European Union and United Kingdom (GDPR): the controller is the company (Republic of Korea). Legal bases: performance of a contract (making and sending your reading), consent (marketing email), legitimate interests (preventing abuse, security, cookie-free visit statistics) and legal obligation (keeping transaction records). Korea has an EU adequacy decision; transfers to providers in the United States rely on each provider's standard contractual clauses or Data Privacy Framework certification. You have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, and may complain to the supervisory authority where you live. We are in the process of appointing an EU representative and will name them here once appointed.
- Japan (Act on the Protection of Personal Information): your information is transferred to Korea and the United States, and for international payment also to the reseller, whose receiving country may not be fixed in advance. Before users in Japan pay internationally, the payment screen names these countries (where the reseller's country cannot be fixed in advance, it says so, explains why and links to the reseller's privacy policy), describes each country's personal data protection system and the recipients' safeguards, and asks for consent; without it, payment does not proceed. We keep the consent record (wording version and time) with the order. Korea has a comprehensive law, the Personal Information Protection Act, overseen by an independent authority (the Personal Information Protection Commission). The United States has no comprehensive federal privacy law; sector-specific federal laws and state laws such as California's apply. Our service providers in Korea and the United States use the data only to provide their service, under their contract or terms with us, with security measures such as encryption; the reseller handles it under its own privacy policy.
- Wherever you live, the rights your local law gives you still apply.
12. Changes
We announce changes on this page 7 days before they take effect. Effective date: 2026-10-27 (the part of the visit statistics in section 1 that counts same-day visits once applies from 2026-11-03, and the parts about the help chat from 2026-10-28)
