The card for October 22, 2026
Gatekeeper of the Moon Palace Okto
Today carries Earth energy. The old East Asian calendar gives each day an energy: Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, or Water. These readings are for fun and self-reflection.
Aries
The Progress card
Moving ahead
A card from the I Ching, the old East Asian book of wisdom: Fire above, Earth below.
Drawn reversed · its meaning is not fully open yet, or easy to overdo, so give it a second look.
Pause before you rush ahead.
Today puts Aries in the giving role, with your energy flowing toward Earth's, so leave room to rest. When you're tempted to jump in before someone finishes because you think your idea is better, hear them out first. Your idea loses none of its value while you listen.
- Worth trying
- Let the other person finish, then take a breath before you speak.
- Worth watching for
- Don't use honesty as an excuse to embarrass someone.
Taurus
The The Clinging card
Light upon light
A card from the I Ching, the old East Asian book of wisdom: Fire above and Fire below.
A little more light brings things into focus.
Today's Earth matches Taurus's own energy, bringing both strengths and stubborn habits into sharper focus. The Clinging shows light upon light: a flame needs something to hold onto as it shines. When an answer to an old puzzle comes to you in the shower, catch it in a note rather than letting it drift away.
- Worth trying
- Put a fresh idea straight into your phone's notes.
- Worth watching for
- Feeling sure of yourself is no reason to tune out someone else's advice.
Gemini
The Dispersion card
Scattering
A card from the I Ching, the old East Asian book of wisdom: Wind above, Water below.
Let what sits unused find somewhere to go.
Today's Earth energy is on Gemini's side, so the work you've been pushing forward may feel easier than expected. Dispersion shows wind moving across water, loosening and scattering what has gathered. Think of a drawer full of unused things: passing something to someone who needs it gives both your space and your thoughts room to breathe.
- Worth trying
- Offer an unused item to someone who needs it.
- Worth watching for
- Sharing doesn't mean giving away things you still need.
Cancer
The Thunder card
Beginning
One of the eight basic pictures of the I Ching, the old East Asian book of wisdom: Thunder.
Drawn reversed · its meaning is not fully open yet, or easy to overdo, so give it a second look.
Let a sudden urge settle overnight.
Today's Earth energy brings some resistance for Cancer, so keep an alternate route in mind. Thunder shows a rumble beneath the ground waking what sleeps; its name suggests being startled into motion. If you keep checking something you want because you feel you might miss out, close the window and let the feeling settle overnight.
- Worth trying
- Close the window on something you keep checking and notice how the urge feels.
- Worth watching for
- Let everyone else's excitement be theirs; you don't have to join in.
Leo
The Fellowship card
Companions on one road
A card from the I Ching, the old East Asian book of wisdom: Heaven above, Fire below.
A shared road feels lighter.
Leo's energy flows toward today's Earth, making this a day for creating and expressing, with room for rest. Fellowship pictures fire burning beneath the sky and people gathering around a shared purpose. If someone offers help with a task you've been wrestling with alone, welcome the company instead of worrying about sharing the credit.
- Worth trying
- Ask someone to join you in a task you've been doing alone.
- Worth watching for
- Don't let suspicion of a kind offer make you turn away a helping hand.
Virgo
The Treading card
Careful steps
A card from the I Ching, the old East Asian book of wisdom: Heaven above, Lake below.
Courtesy is your most dependable armor.
Today's Earth feels familiar to Virgo, making it easy to follow your own rhythm—and to dig in your heels. When you need to coordinate schedules with a demanding person all day, a polite, respectful tone helps take the sting out of sharp remarks.
- Worth trying
- Reread a message before sending it and soften any sharp edges.
- Worth watching for
- A joke that crosses a boundary isn't a shortcut to closeness.
Libra
The Duration card
Constancy
A card from the I Ching, the old East Asian book of wisdom: Thunder above, Wind below.
Keep showing up for what you already do.
Today's Earth energy supports Libra like a breeze at your back. When familiar tasks feel dull and a completely different project calls, set that urge aside and give your usual routine some steady attention.
- Worth trying
- Finish a familiar daily task in your usual way.
- Worth watching for
- Don't let switching to a new app or tool take up your whole day.
Scorpio
The Thunder card
Beginning
One of the eight basic pictures of the I Ching, the old East Asian book of wisdom: Thunder.
It's a day for action before overthinking.
Today's Earth energy feels like a headwind for Scorpio, asking a little more effort of each step. Thunder pictures lightning and a great sound shaking the sky, a symbol of the first movement. When an unexpected message interrupts a task, take the first step within reach rather than letting it throw you off.
- Worth trying
- Choose a task you've put off and take its first small step.
- Worth watching for
- Don't let the search for a perfect plan keep you staring at a blank screen.
Sagittarius
The Influence card
Feeling
A card from the I Ching, the old East Asian book of wisdom: Lake above, Mountain below.
Your hunch fits better than logic today.
Today's Earth draws on Sagittarius's energy, so give your attention a clear focus rather than pouring it everywhere. Influence shows a lake above a mountain, their energies mingling, an image of hearts feeling and responding to each other. That pull toward something, or the uneasy feeling you can't explain, could be more accurate than you expect today.
- Worth trying
- If something draws you in, put that interest into words.
- Worth watching for
- Don't force yourself into a commitment that looks good but feels wrong.
Capricorn
The Revolution card
Change
A card from the I Ching, the old East Asian book of wisdom: Lake above, Fire below.
Drawn reversed · its meaning is not fully open yet, or easy to overdo, so give it a second look.
Give a recent change room to take root.
Today's Earth matches Capricorn's own energy, turning the volume up to twice its usual level on whatever you do. Revolution shows fire beneath a lake, each changing the other, an image of replacing the old with the new. When you're tempted to revise an approach you changed just a few days ago, let it settle. Give it room to show you what it does before changing it again.
- Worth trying
- Write down a recent change and mark the days you stick with it.
- Worth watching for
- Notice the urge to return to the old way before you've tried the new one fully.
Aquarius
The Heaven card
Creating
One of the eight basic pictures of the I Ching, the old East Asian book of wisdom: Heaven.
Drawn reversed · its meaning is not fully open yet, or easy to overdo, so give it a second look.
Ease your grip instead of pushing harder.
Today's Earth energy supports Aquarius, so you don't have to supply all the effort yourself. Heaven shows layers of sky moving without rest, a symbol of strong forward motion. When a plan isn't going the way you intended, step back and let someone else take a turn rather than pushing harder.
- Worth trying
- Hand a task you've been carrying to someone who can take it on.
- Worth watching for
- Resist blaming the people around you or the situation when progress stalls.
Pisces
The Deliverance card
Release
A card from the I Ching, the old East Asian book of wisdom: Thunder above, Water below.
Bring a stalled task back into view.
Today's Earth energy presses gently against Pisces, so holding your ground takes a little extra effort. When a long-awaited answer finally arrives, it's tempting to take a break in relief. If it clears the way for a stalled task, bring that task back out and take the first step while you have an opening.
- Worth trying
- Return to a task you've set aside and take its first step.
- Worth watching for
- Don't let relief at an opening turn into another reason to put things off.
