Meteor Shower

The Orionid meteor shower peaks tonight.

The Orionid meteor shower peaks tonight. With the Moon 76% illuminated, only the brighter meteors stand out through the moonlight.

Dust grains as small as sand burn and glow high in the atmosphere. Tonight the Moon is in Aquarius, 76% illuminated. Venus appears to move backward in Scorpio, an apparent motion called retrograde, and is currently difficult to see in the Sun's glare.

In astrology's symbolic language, a meteor crossing the dark sky represents something small yet worth noticing. For a little playful reflection before bed, write down a small thing that caught your attention today.
