A Planet Turns

Mercury appears to change direction tonight.

Mercury appears to pause in Scorpio, then begins to look as though it is moving backward against the background stars.

Mercury doesn't actually reverse its orbit. As it passes Earth on its inner path around the Sun, our view makes it appear to move backward. Tonight the Moon is in Aries and 96% illuminated. Venus also appears to move backward in Scorpio and is currently hard to see in the Sun's glare.

In astrology, a planet's apparent pause is a symbol for slowing down and checking your direction, not a promise of events. For a little self-reflection before bed, gently revisit something you've been rushing.
